SurfaceSPREAD Clone Shader

The SurfaceSPREAD Shader is a normal channel shader and can be used in all channels of the CINEMA 4D standard material, as well as in the special materials of VrayForC4D. It can also be combined with other shaders or textures. The shader´s task is to visualize data that was calculated by SurfaceSPREAD. You can apply colour derived from the results of the SurfaceSPREAD object´s filters or you can use a random color for each clone. To see the result of the shader you have to do a render.

Here´s an image of me playing around using the Geo Filter: Slope. The colours from the gradient are then applied to the clones depending how much surface slope there is where the clone is positioned. One thing that I noted was primitives needed to made editable for the shader to be applied properly using the Slope mode. I got different results when the sphere was still a parametric primitive. My original intention was to use the Altitude filter and have nice bands of colours. I couldn´t however get the result that I was after and I have passed this on to the plugin developer.

This image would not have been possible without using Render Instances. I would have received an out of memory error with a lot less clones.

SREADrock Object

SPREADrock icon The SREADrock Object is a parametric rock primitive. i.e. just like a cube primitive has various settings for size, segments, fillets the SPREADrock object also has many settings for creating rocks to populate your scene. The rocks can be simple stone or boulders or you can create elaborate rock formations using a base mesh and transforming it into a rocky surface. Here are the settings for the SPREADrock object.

Like any other object the SPREADrock object can be cloned by a SURFACESpread object. Below is a short video by the plugin developer that gives you a taste of what the SPREADrock object can do

The image below is a render of one of the sample scenes. The rock canyon walls and part of the ground are all SPREADrock objects. The only other object is a SPREADscape object that is one part of the ground. There are 11 SPREADrock objects in the scene.
